The Multi-skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. Job Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-relatedfield preferred. Effective Communication Skills Successful completion of an approved course(s) in phlebotomy and EKG preferred. Successful completion and maintenance of BLS healthcare provider training required. Essential Responsibilities Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients. Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including conducting EKG tests, Phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing,grooming and eating. Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
