Welder/Fabricator

Welder/FabricatorSletten Construction is looking for welders/fabricators to support current construction projects. The welder is responsible for assisting the shop and construction teams to complete projects requiring welding and other tasks. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as a weld test.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforming welding tasks on construction sites as well as in the shopUtilize equipment to unload, stack, and organize steel materialsMaintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and materials usageEffectively communicate with team members, vendors, and clientsWork with foreman to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arisePerform equipment repairEnsure welds meet required standards and specificationsIdentify and correct any defects or deficienciesAssist other craft workers as neededMust work quickly, productively, and safely without error and consistently meet the production goals as set by the foreman, superintendent, or project manager.Must consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by company standardsMust comply with all company safety and personnel policiesQualificationsMust be able to pass a drug screeningMinimum of 2 years experience as a welder/fabricatorStrong knowledge of welding techniques, including plan reading, weld symbol identification, layout, fitting, and weldingExperience with a variety of welding processes (e.g., FCAW-G, FCAW-S, GMAW, SMAW, PAC, OAC)Must be over 18Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 80 lbs.Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work.Additional InformationEOE, M/F/D/V welcomed to applyThis role is signatory to the Operators Engineers UnionWork environment is changing and will be both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.Travel is required
