PACU RN (FT/Varied) - Southwest Hospital

Job Summary Four 10 hour shifts (9:30am to 7:30pm or until last patient is out). Call is required on a rotational basis: after 7pm and weekends, call every 4th weekend. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred. Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing. Certified in Basic Life Support. Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements. Experience: RN I Effective oral and written communication skills. Previous Heart and Vascular PACU and/or ICU experience preferred. Must have sheath removal experience. Previous PACU experience preferred. Previous ICU experience may be considered. Principal Accountabilities Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory. Coordinates planning for delivery of nursing care with interdisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions. Collaborates, directs, and may delegate to the healthcare team to attain positive outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional standards. Coordinates treatment plans; develops and implements discharge and/or transfer plans. Participates in systemic interdisciplinary evaluation of programs, process improvement and desired client‑centered outcomes. Considers diverse needs of each patient through entire continuum of care, providing highest level service per established standards, optimizing patient experience. Adheres to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards. Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes professional growth and development by meeting mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department‑based goals and may serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
