Role Description The Employment Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cortland, NY. This role focuses on supporting individuals with special needs in identifying, obtaining, and maintaining meaningful employment in the community. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with individuals to assess strengths and interests, developing individualized employment plans, and coaching on job readiness skills such as interviewing, workplace communication, and professional behavior. The Employment Specialist builds and maintains relationships with local employers, advocates for inclusive hiring practices, and coordinates workplace accommodations and supports as needed. The role also includes documentation of services, progress tracking, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and providing ongoing training and guidance to help individuals succeed in their roles and grow in their careers. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with individuals, employers, and team members. Candidates should possess Interviewing and Recruiting skills to assess employment readiness and match individuals with appropriate job opportunities. Candidates should possess Training skills to deliver job readiness instruction, on-the-job coaching, and ongoing workplace support. Experience working with individuals with special needs or in human services, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce development is beneficial. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, education, social work, or a related field is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate documentation. Knowledge of local labor markets and employer outreach, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
