Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical-Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1 year in EP/Electrophysiology Lab required License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BSN, ACLS/BLS Must-Have: Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies. Knowledge of medical terminology; principles and practices of health promotion, risk reduction, illness, and disease prevention and management. Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Ability to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing. Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to observe changes in medical conditions and effectively communicate these changes. Ability to provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care. General computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, and electronic medical documentation. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for coordinating patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients and identify nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. Develops and implements individualized plans of care and evaluates patient responses. Promotes safe passage for patients by assisting them to transition through healthcare encounters without preventable complications. Supports evidence-based practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning. Creates a compassionate, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Recognizes and incorporates a patient's unique differences into an individualized plan of care. Preserves and protects the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families. Facilitates learning for patients, families, and healthcare team members. Works collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement an integrated plan of care. Utilizes strategies for problem-solving that consider safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care delivery.
