Job PostingCompany: Allegheny Health NetworkJob Title: Registered NurseLocation: Allegheny General HospitalDepartment: 6A StepdownShift: 48 hours every two weeksScheduled between 11am Friday and 7am Monday, per policyUnion: YesTHE UNIT: Allegheny General's 6A Stepdown Unit is a 30 bed unit specializing in the care of ICU stepdown patients and complex medical cases. Primarily serving as a receiving unit for patients stepping down from MICU, 6A also admits patients from the Emergency Department, outside hospitals, and smaller ICUs requiring a higher level of care for stabilization. The unit frequently cares for patients with respiratory issues (with respiratory therapy available on the floor), drug and alcohol withdrawal, GI bleeds, altered mental status, sepsis, and congestive heart failure (CHF). Nurses manage a high-acuity patient population requiring frequent blood product administration, intravenous access, and close monitoring.ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL:Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, is a 550+ bed hospital renowned for its advanced care across nearly every medical and surgical specialty.
