Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursing Float Pool - New Graduates Welcome

Description Maine Medical Center, Biddeford, ME. Position: Registered Nurse I & II (Full Time/Nights). Req #: 78654. Open to all RN’s. For a limited time MaineHealth is offering $10,000 sign‑on bonus for RN 0‑2 years, $20,000 for RN >2 years. Sign‑On Bonus Eligibility Eligible candidates are hired into a full or part‑time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for part‑time hires; per diem hires ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation. Nursing Float Pool The Nursing Float Pool is a department for RNs seeking dynamic positions with exposure to a broad range of patient acuity levels. Nurses in this department are adaptable to different units, including specialties, supporting flexibility, time‑management skills, and critical thinking. Float between multiple Medical‑Surgical Units, ICU, and Emergency Department. 12‑hour shifts (7‑7); self‑scheduling. Every third or every other weekend rotation options. Summary The Registered Nurse II – Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. License/Certifications: Current applicable state license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED, and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS certificates within one year of start date or in accordance with department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP certification within one year of start date or in accordance with department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS. Experience: One year of RN experience required; demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role. Additional skills: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting laboring women required.
