Service Manager Full Time Northwood, OH, US Job Summary: The Service Manager position is responsible for overseeing all service operations at the Branch, including supervisor of service personnel, coordination of daily activities, and maintenance of shop and fleet assets. This role ensures efficient workflow, high-quality service delivery, and compliance with safety standards. Specific Responsibilities: Supervise all service employees, including technicians and drivers. Organize and plan daily activities for the service team to ensure timely and effective service delivery. Train new and current drivers and technicians on proper work processes, safety procedures and equipment use. Dispatch delivery drivers and assist with loading to ensure timely departures. Serve as a backup driver when needed. Supervise all work performed in the shop, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entire shop and surrounding areas. Ensure all repair equipment is properly maintained and operational. Ensure all company vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and serviced. Assemble and prepare scrap batteries for recycling. Work closely with the Branch Coordinator. Assist with the evaluation and repair of chargers and batteries as needed. Support technicians with troubleshooting and complex repairs. Interface with IPS office personnel to coordinate service schedules, documentation and reporting. Responsible for purchasing all shop supplies, tools, and PPE. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives. Education, Training, and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 5+ years previous delivery or warehouse experience preferred Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn battery installation procedures Ability to obtain a forklift certification if necessary Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position is primarily focused in a shop/warehouse environment with exposure to tools, equipment, and battery chemicals. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift 50-75lbs for extended periods of time. The use of hand tools and proper PPE safety equipment is required. Must be able to safely operate company vehicles and maintain a clean driving record. The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
