Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: Required Certifications Must-Have: Candidates must have 1+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year. Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time is essential. Description: The unit has a total of 22 beds and a staff of 30. Day shift typically includes 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, 2 patient care assistants, and 1 unit secretary. Night shift typically includes 4 registered nurses, 1-2 patient care assistants, and 0-2 sitters. The maximum patient ratio is 6:1. Standard EMR system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed on the unit include care for med/surg patients. Standard nursing skills required include IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, and central line maintenance. Medication administration and communication with all members of the care team are essential. Documentation in the electronic health record is required. Additional skills include continuous bladder irrigation and NGT insertion/maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused attitude. Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of experience working with neuro patients, CVA's, TIA's, and AMS. Candidates with a neuro/neuro-surgery or orthopedic background are preferred. Med/Surg/Telemetry background will suffice for consideration. Weekends and on-call shifts are not required. No additional comments or specific unit policies and guidelines to note.
