Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2 years of EP experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

Electrophysiology Lab setting within a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations

3-suite EP lab averaging 125 cases per month

Patient population includes adults and adolescents as young as 16

Procedures include RFA/PFA/Cryo ablations (afib, VT, PVC, his bundles), pacemakers, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes, MICRA/Aveir leadless pacemaker, loop recorders, temp pacers, and Watchman

12-hour day shifts (7A-7P), 36 hours/week, 3 shifts

On-call requirement of 1-2 overnight shifts per week plus every 5th weekend

Call-only coverage required for 1 major holiday

May float to bedside for procedures such as temp pacers but will not be assigned patients outside of EP

EPIC EMR experience preferred

Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips cardiovascular/ISCV PACS, and Phillips & GE unit-specific equipment

Requirements

Active RN license (GA state or compact) required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of EP lab experience required

Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area with most recent experience within the last year

Experience with moderate sedation administration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and critical/cardiac drip management required

Experience with listed EP procedures and patient types required

Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Support staff includes manager/supervisor during the day, central transport, flow coordinator, scheduler, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage

Sheath Team available to assist with sheath management and pulling

Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 5 shifts of unit-specific orientation

Hospital-provided scrubs and free employee parking

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rule

Returning travelers must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
