Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CT Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity: CT Scan Technologist Job Description Under the direction of the Radiologist and CT Supervisor, you will perform CT procedures in accordance with department protocols at a technical level. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and perform various technical procedures, including interventional cases, CT Angiography, and advanced 3D reconstruction. You will be responsible for applying ionizing radiation while adhering to the ALARA principle for CT diagnostics. Responsibilities include administering intravenous (IV), oral, and rectal contrast, maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and ensuring a clean and organized work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support and promote the mission and values of the healthcare organization. Acquire scans according to radiologist and department protocols. Inform patients about the exam process and provide instructions to ensure their cooperation. Assist the radiologist during interventional procedures. Coordinate the daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients while considering the outpatient schedule. Review IV Contrast Questionnaire with patients receiving IV contrast. Complete documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Review exams in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for completeness before submission to the radiologist. Ensure the safety and well-being of all patients. Be flexible to assist with 24/7 department coverage as needed. Arrive on time for all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. Complete mandatory learning, competencies, and continuing education units (CEUs) as required. Adhere to the dress code policy. Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times. Manage cleaning, stocking of supplies, and laundry to maintain a professional workspace. Perform other duties consistent with this role as assigned. Job Requirements Knowledge and Skills Proficient in CT scan software; GE and Siemens experience preferred. Familiarity with PACS software; McKesson Change Healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR); Epic experience preferred. Skilled in patient preparation, positioning, and scan acquisition according to established protocols. Capable of identifying anatomy, pathology, and contrast enhancement on cross-sectional imaging. Able to obtain symptom and relevant patient history to ensure medical necessity for procedures. Commitment to reducing radiation exposure for patients and staff. Understanding of daily quality assurance (QA) and warm-up procedures for CT scan equipment. Able to troubleshoot issues with CT scan equipment and coordinate service as needed. Practice the ALARA principle at all times. Education and Experience Current ARRT certification required. ARRT CT Registry eligibility preferred. New Hampshire Imaging License required. BLS Certification required. CT scan experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. Working Conditions and Physical Demands This position requires physical and mental capabilities to perform tasks typically associated with the role, which may involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Responsibilities also include frequent lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role may involve stress due to the high level of responsibility for providing quality patient care.
