Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Unit

This position is for 12-hour shifts, days, with a 0700 start time.

The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) provides medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to patients who are classified as medium to high acuity. Our team cares for stable patients who possess a high potential for becoming unstable, requiring a higher level of nursing care due to their complexity and existing co-morbidities. The patient population served in this unit ranges from young adults to geriatric patients, with cardiac diagnoses including but not limited to:

• Pre/Post cardiac artery bypass surgery
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Post pacemaker insertion
• Arrhythmia detection
• CHF and pneumonia

The position involves providing high-level nursing care aligned with the needs of our cardiovascular patients. Responsibilities may include monitoring patients, administering medication, planning and implementing care plans, and supporting patients and families through complex medical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current CA RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience
• Successful completion of prior traveler assignments
