Job Summary and Qualifications Provision of Care Coordinates development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure services meet patient population and community needs. Provides clinical pharmacy support and executes programs for all patient areas. Reviews medication orders and technician work to ensure appropriateness of drugs, dosage, route and interactions. Adjusts medication dosages/schedules as appropriate per policy and patient condition. Ensures medications are safely dispensed in accordance with age‑specific guidelines and sterile preparation standards. Participates in evaluation and analysis of clinical data, medication use, drug monograph development, and clinical toolkit development. Provides oversight of pharmacy distribution activities including order receipt, product storage, controlled substance process, dispensing and other functions. Monitors narcotic transactions, reconciles quantity/type of narcotics dispensed, and ensures compliance with DEA regulations. Assists department in addressing physician consults as needed and retrieves reliable drug information. Contributes to a culture of patient‑centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment. Patient & Family Communication Communicates and interacts with patients, families and others in a caring, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner. Physician Communication & Coordination Communicates effectively and works with physicians and other team members to meet patient needs. Receives, interprets and implements physician orders accurately and courteously. Consults resources to clarify unfamiliar or questionable orders.
