Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently and without supervision
• Monitor and assess laboring patients at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems
• Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
• Participate in weekend rotation, which may exceed every other weekend based on unit need

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of California (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 2+ years preferred
• Demonstrated expert-level ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently
• AWHONN Advanced certification (hard stop requirement)
• Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NRP certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital environment
• Experience floating to or working in a Mother Baby unit
• Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
