Airport Operations Maintenance Laborer

The City of Arkadelphia is looking an Operations Maintenance Laborer for the Arkadelphia Municipal Airport.

Job Summary

• Supports the safe and efficient daily operation of the airport.
• Manages fuel operations inspections inventories and required documentation.
• Conducts runway taxiway ramp and facility inspections and performs grounds maintenance.
• Operates fuel trucks heavy equipment and airport vehicles.
• Assists with wildlife management NOTAMs UNICOM communications and emergency response.
• Maintains a clean safe and secure airport environment.
• Assists the Airport Manager with administrative and other assigned duties.
• Performs physically demanding work in various weather noise hazardous and confined-space conditions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team) and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
• Accepts and monitors bulk fuel into fuel storage tanks;
• Performs pre during and post-delivery fuel checks to ensure fuel quality;
• Operate mobile fuel trucks;
• Records daily inventories of fuel storage tanks and fuel trucks;
• Completes documentation on daily monthly quarterly and annual checks on fuel fuel storage areas fuel trucks;
• Assists the Airport Manager as required;
• Conducts daily inspections of RWY TWY ramp and other aeronautical areas in accordance with FAA standards;
• Performs ground maintenance including but not limited to mowing trimming sweeping the RWY/TWYs spraying;
• Maintains all areas to present a clean safe environment;
• Maintains and assists in the inspection diagnoses and maintenance of facilities and equipment;
• Operate equipment such as backhoe excavator forklift tractor bush hog zero turn tractor with sidearm;
• Wildlife management in accordance with KADF Wildlife Hazard Management Plan;
• Issuing NOTAMS;
• Answering the UNICOM;
• Makes immediate and vital decisions affecting the continuation of air and ground operations during emergency conditions;
• Ensures the safe and secure operation of KADF by implementing and enforcing airport rules of the day-to-day operations;
• Able to perform variety of administrative support functions including but not limited to copying writing faxing answering telephone;
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check and drug test.
• Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
• Must be able to read and use basic math.
• Ability to maintain records.
• Ability to perform duties in a dependable and reliable manner without direct supervision.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Ability to perform physical labor.
• Ability to be part of an organization that values service people integrity responsibility and teamwork.
• Must be able to work weekends holidays and take call.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must be a flexible team player that takes direction well is safety conscious customer-oriented and willing and able to learn to operate all equipment and perform all tasks as assigned.
• Must be able to work regular business hours including weekends and holidays. May be required to be on call.
