FOOD SERVICE SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION: Deliver friendly, honest, and focused customer service by being part of the Jack's Companies team! If you have great attention to detail, enjoy working with people, and take pride in everything you do this could be a great fit for you! We do a variety of tasks to keep your day fresh such as: preparing food, training the kitchen staff, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the interior and exterior of the store.

Hours would be 3:00 am to 11:00 am Monday-Friday with availability to work weekends if needed.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent customer service skills and ensures prompt service
• Strong work ethic and integrity
• Prepare hot and cold food items for retail sale in convenience store atmosphere
• Make frequent inspections of all work, storage, and servicing areas to determine that regulations and Food Safety procedures are being followed
• Constant food flavor, temperature, and appearance checks
• Able to coach and train staff on food preparation and safety
• Proactive with inventory levels and maintains a list of inventory items that need re-ordering and maintains accurate ordering levels
• Train staff on food organization in cooler/freezer and shelves
• Trains team and follows First In First Out with stocked inventory
• Follows and trains the "Make Less More Often" motto
• Maximizes sales by ensuring customers have purchased everything they need on their visit
• Ability to educate our customers so they get the most value for their money
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to walk and stand for 100% of shift
• Ability to work in heated and/or freezer area for stocking purposes
• Able to lift, carry, or push up to 50 lbs.
• Previous food service experience or ability to train others a plus, but is not required
• Must have flexibility in work schedule and open to work weekends, days, early mornings, nights, and holidays (depending on hiring agreement with store manager)
• The flexibility in work schedule will need to be maintained especially for training new hires and introducing new products/procedures to the staff. May entail changing schedule from an early morning shift to evening shift to reach all of the staff in a timely manner.
• Proven attendance record
• Attending or completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
