Job Summary:
The CT Technologist position is located in a healthcare facility's radiology department. The role involves performing computed tomography (CT) procedures, ensuring quality imaging, maintaining equipment calibration, and adhering to radiation safety guidelines. The technician will also handle radiopharmaceuticals, document departmental activities, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM, Days shift, minimum of 37.5 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of a JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) approved school of radiologic technology; New York State License (L.R.T.); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)
- Skills: Performs CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure accuracy; exercises judgment to assess and respond to patient needs; experienced in patient monitoring, radiology, cardiac CT, and cardiology; certified registered radiologic technologist
- Additional Information: The role includes daily quality control calibration, injection of radiopharmaceuticals, documentation practices, and safety compliance following ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles. The technician will handle ordering and verifying radiopharmaceutical doses and maintain imaging records for interpretation.
