Date Posted: 9/10/2026 Location: Comstock High School Date Available: Immediately POSITION: Special Education Paraprofessional - Cognitive Impairments-Comstock High School 35 Hours per week SALARY: Dependent on years of school paraprofessional experience Hourly rate starting at $17.03 Paid time off Health insurance or $2,000 cash-in-lieu Vision, Dental and Life Insurance Paid Spring Break Vacation AVAILABLE: Immediately EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent; and one of the following: Associate's Degree ?Bachelor's Degree 60 hours of coursework Passed the ACT WorkKeys exam Employees who have worked for the district for one school year are eligible to have the district pay for one (1) ACT WorkKeys or the Parapro Assessment ETS Test to become qualified to be a paraprofessional. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrate confidentiality working with student information Enjoy children of varied abilities Must be able to move quickly and have good agility Must be able to build rapport with students & colleagues Comfortable in school environment and being part of a classroom team Must be able to follow an established program and given directives Able to work effectively within the classroom or individually/small groups with behavior and academics Must be able to implement, support, and adjust academic programming as directed Highly qualified as a paraprofessional RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate learning of students in a Moderate Cognitive Impairment Classroom Implement individual/group activities/lesson plans as directed/supervised by the special education instructor Assume responsibility for individuals or groups as directed to support the classroom environment & program Assist with implementation of students' IEP accommodations, modifications, and instructional supports as directed by the teacher. Attend professional development opportunities outside of the academic day as scheduled by the principal Assist children with educational, physical, personal, and emotional needs Implement classroom and individual behavioral strategies as directed by the special education teacher. Collect student data as directed by the special education teacher.
