ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Ultrasound (Days) (PRN)

Overview Plans, coordinates, supervises, and carries out the activities of the ultrasound area. Work is carried out in an independent, professional manner with minimal supervision. Education Technical or Vocational school plus up to 2 years specialty training Experience No prior work experience required. Licenses & Certifications Healthcare Provider (CPR) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Must obtain CPR certification within 30 days from hire. Qualifications ARDMS, CCI, or registry eligible for either. Must possess or obtain one of the following credentials within 18 months of hire: ARDMS credentials (RDMS, RVT, RDCS, RDS); CCI credentials (ACS, RCCS, RCS, RVS); or ARRT(S). Must obtain CPR certification within 30 days from hire. Responsibilities Demonstrate competency in patient care across all age categories: Neonate (through 28 days), Infant (29 days to 1 year), Toddler (1-2 years), Preschool (3-5 years), School Age (5-12 years), Adolescent (12-18 years), Adult (18-65 years), Geriatric (65+ years). Participate in continuing education and departmental meetings as required by certification. Perform ultrasound procedures. Maintain all professional registrations and certifications mandated by policy and regulatory agencies (TJC, etc.). Stock ultrasound area with proper supplies. Perform related duties as assigned. May be assigned to work a shift or take call at any ultrasound site within the health system. Maintain patient records accurately. Manage OA/AC programs. Ensure proper ultrasound maintenance and record keeping for equipment. Compliance Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
