Job Summary (List Format) Trusts & Estate Attorney, Sebastian, FL
- Counsel individuals and families on estate planning, asset protection, incapacity planning, and wealth-transfer strategies
- Design and prepare customized estate plans tailored to clients' family situations, assets, and goals
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and living wills
- Advise clients on appropriate trust structures and estate planning strategies
- Review and update existing estate plans based on changes in law or client circumstances
- Represent and advise trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries, and family members in probate and trust administration matters
- Manage formal and summary probate administrations, including document preparation and court filings
- Guide fiduciaries through legal duties and administration responsibilities
- Attend court hearings and communicate with courts, financial institutions, beneficiaries, CPAs, and other professionals
- Independently manage client matters from initial consultation through completion, maintaining deadlines and client expectations
- Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient and accurate handling of matters
- Maintain regular, proactive, and professional communication with clients
- Review work product to ensure adherence to firm quality and service standards
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources such as financial advisors, CPAs, and real estate professionals
- Participate in business development through seminars, workshops, and educational programs
- Assist in developing and improving department processes and systems as the practice grows
- Must be an active member in good standing with The Florida Bar, with at least 3 years of relevant legal experience
- Requires strong drafting, analytical, legal research, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and responsiveness, especially when working with families, elderly clients, and fiduciaries
