Schedule: Full-Time | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Weekend Availability Required
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year

A skilled nursing facility in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to oversee all dietary and food service operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, resident satisfaction, and efficient department management.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing dietary services within a Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care facility, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting and be available to provide leadership support on weekends as needed.
Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations of the Dietary Department
• Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with physician orders, dietary requirements, and resident preferences
• Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local health and sanitation regulations
• Monitor food quality, safety standards, and resident satisfaction
• Manage departmental budgets, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
• Collaborate with Registered Dietitians, nursing staff, and facility leadership to support resident care plans
• Ensure kitchen operations meet infection control and food safety standards
• Prepare for and participate in state surveys and regulatory inspections
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve department efficiency and service quality

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Food Service Director, Dietary Director, or similar leadership role
• Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, or healthcare experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of dietary regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements
• Experience managing staff, scheduling, budgets, and food service operations
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification preferred
• Must be available to provide weekend coverage and support when needed
