5th Grade Teacher

Responsibilities Prepare course objectives and outline for the course of study following curriculum guidelines or state and school requirements. Adapt material to accommodate student ability level and learning style. Deliver lectures, demonstrations, and use audiovisual teaching aids as well as other teaching methods to present subject matter to class. Prepare, administer, and correct tests, and record results. Assign lessons, correct papers, and assess oral presentations. Teach rules of conduct and maintain order of students. Counsel pupils when adjustment and academic problems arise. Discuss pupils' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents and specialists, if necessary. Keep attendance and grade records as required by the school. Coordinate class field trips. Participate in faculty and professional meetings, open houses, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Qualifications Licensed by the MN Department of Education as a K‑5 Elementary Teacher. Experience working cross‑culturally and/or commitment to improving cultural competence, valuing diversity, recognizing personal limitations, and a desire to learn in these areas.
