Facility:
This is a distinguished Level I Pediatric Trauma Center featuring a 206,499-square-foot facility that includes a 72-bed NICU - the second largest in North Carolina - a 12-bed PICU, and 42 general/intermediate pediatric beds. The facility offers highly specialized services including pediatric and neonatal intensive care, a kids immunosuppressed specialty unit (KISU), ECMO, a 24/7 children's emergency department, acute dialysis and CRRT, and multiple surgical specialties. It is a designated Children's Miracle Network hospital, placing it among the nation's top children's facilities.

Job Details:

• Provide care for newborn infants and/or pediatric patients at The Outer Banks Health Hospital in Nags Head, NC
• Monthly rotations at ECU Health Maynard Children's Hospital in Greenville, NC incorporated for high-risk resuscitation skills and competency maintenance
• 12 (24-hour) call shifts per month with 16 days off per 28 days
• Clinical responsibilities include rounding and coordination of care from admission to discharge for all newborn patients
• Attendance at all high-risk deliveries required
• Participation in resuscitation, stabilization, and transfer of critically ill neonates as needed
• Transfer support provided by ECU Health Medical Center
• Support and continuous competency training provided by the Children's Hospital
• Neonatal NP, Acute Care trained Pediatric NP, or Physician Assistant with experience in Newborn or NICU required
• Active NC RN licensure and NC Nurse Practitioner licensure or NC licensure as a Physician Assistant required
• National Board Certification as a Neonatal NP, Pediatric NP-AC, or Physician Assistant required, including maintenance
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Relocation assistance available
