Senior Packaging Development Engineer

In this role, you’ll be the key technical link between central functions, factories, and suppliers, ensuring smooth collaboration and fast problem‑solving. You’ll develop and qualify packaging materials , lead end‑to‑end projects from concept to industrialisation, and drive sustainability‑focused solutions . You’ll plan and run material and format trials , troubleshoot the machine–material interface , and deliver improvements that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise performance across our packing lines. Principle Accountabilities Act as the technical interface between central functions, factories, material suppliers, and machine suppliers, ensuring alignment and timely issue resolution. Develop and qualify packaging materials and components, including drawings, specifications, patent checks, and sustainability compliance (PCR content, ISCC mass balance, recycle‑ability). Lead complex packaging projects end‑to‑end, from concept through industrialisation and scale‑up, ensuring readiness for production and quality standards. Plan, coordinate, and execute run‑ability trials for packaging materials and formats, analyse performance, and validate materials according to internal qualification processes. Troubleshoot and optimise the machine–material interface, demonstrating autonomy in identifying root causes, designing tests, and implementing solutions across lines and factories. Contribute to continuous improvement of forming and packing machinery, driving efficiency, waste reduction, and material optimisation initiatives. Skills and Experience Required Engineering background with strong mechanical or packaging‑related experience in large‑scale production environments (FMCG preferred). Hands‑on experience with packaging materials, ideally including board, films, and understanding of machine–material interactions. Pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset with creativity and resilience in problem‑solving. Knowledge of sustainability requirements, ideally including PCR materials, ISCC licensing/mass balance principles, and packaging recyclability. Fluency in English and Polish, with the ability to communicate clearly across functions and with suppliers. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.
