General Liability Defense Paralegal
Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually
Based in Iselin, NJ, we are a well-established multidisciplinary law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Woodbridge office is expanding and seeking an experienced General Liability Paralegal to join a growing team handling sophisticated New York and New Jersey general liability defense matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned defense paralegal who values independent case work, teamwork and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare subpoenas and review and summarize discovery responses and medical records with accuracy and efficiency
- Schedule, notice, confirm and produce all records related to Independent Medical Examinations while calendaring deadlines and following up consistently
- Draft motions to compel, motions for sanctions, motions for extraordinary relief and motions to enforce subpoenas
- Perform verdict searches, docket searches, social media searches and background searches to support case strategy
Qualifications
- 5+ years of New York defense paralegal experience with a paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree (New Jersey case experience preferred)
- Experience in commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accident and product liability matters preferred
- Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Proficiency with New York e-filing systems, NJ eCourts, PACER, Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel and electronic document management software preferred
