As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Training Instruction: Teach inmates electronics skills through classroom lessons and supervised hands‑on work Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain communication, security, and electronic systems used throughout the institution Tool Oversight: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials used in training and work assignments Work Supervision: Assign tasks to inmate work crews and inspect completed work for accuracy and quality System Installation: Install, test, and troubleshoot cabling, network jacks, and electronic components across the facility Record Management: Maintain training records, inventories, and documentation for maintenance and repair activities Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information Full‑time employment, 40‑hour work week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes). Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
