Project Engineer

TRC Companies is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects across transportation, rail, utilities, and municipal markets. This role partners closely with Project Managers and technical teams to coordinate multi-disciplinary deliverables.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who can independently manage significant portions of project scope, contribute to client coordination, and drive quality execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assigned technical scope for civil infrastructure projects from design through construction completion.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and other technical documents
• Support project scope, schedule, and task-level budget management under Project Manager direction
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and utility disciplines.
• Support rail yard and industrial site development assignments depending on project needs.
• Participate in field investigations, construction support, and client meetings as required.
• Conduct technical quality reviews to ensure compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
• Support proposals, technical studies, cost development, and change documentation.

Qualifications:

• Update to Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• Keep 7+ years of relevant post graduate experience.
• Industrial/heavy infrastructure and construction experience.
• Experience with mechanical/process systems, including pumps, piping, valves, oil-water separators, PLCs, instrumentation and controls.
• Field experience with operating facilities, including condition assessments, maintenance/rehabilitation, troubleshooting and construction support.
• Ability to support design and coordinate multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience with rail, water/wastewater, utilities, manufacturing, power, oil & gas, or similar industrial facilities preferred.
• Update to PE and/or PMP preferred.
• Maintain the current travel requirement.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
