Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Nursery for our facility to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

· Performs complete head to toe newborn assessment with plan of care in a family centered setting

· Medication administration with understanding of side effects for newborn population

· Infection control for newborns

· Demonstrates proficiency with computerized documentation

· Lactation support for breastfeeding mothers in accordance with policy

· Provides family centered education based on family needs

· Demonstrates knowledge of normal lab values of the neonate and recognizes and reports abnormalities of neonate and mother. Follow protocols for GBBS, glucose protocols.

· Participates in required continuing education programs and in-service

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in Newborn Nursery
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
• NRP required within 6 months of hire
