This role will provide day-to-day accounting support for the Golf Events division, working with a portfolio of more than 30 professional golf events, including PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour tournaments. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in billing, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, audit preparation, and collaboration with Finance and event business teams.Best-in-Class Benefits and Culture:Our client values their employees' time and effort. They strive to provide a collaborative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to their processes, decisions, planning, and culture.To thrive/succeed as the Staff Accountant, you should have:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with 1–3 years of related accounting experience.Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including experience preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP or another ERP/accounting system preferred.Experience supporting billing, financial reporting, audits, or budgeting and forecasting preferred.Strong analytical skills with the ability to research discrepancies, identify variances, and resolve issues.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, timely work while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.Effective communication and collaboration skills; experience in sports, events, hospitality, or another project-based business environment preferred.Your responsibilities as the Staff Accountant will include:Create billing schedules based on executed contracts and ensure invoices are issued accurately and timely.Review and approve invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions in accordance with SPORTFIVE policies and procedures.Prepare and post monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure assigned financial results are complete and accurate by established deadlines.Maintain assigned general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies and period-over-period variances.Assist with the preparation and review of financial reports for assigned Golf Events entities.Partner with Finance and Golf Events business teams to address accounting questions and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely.Assist FP&A with the budget and forecasting process.Prepare supporting schedules and deliverables for annual audits and tax-return preparation.Support compliance with internal accounting controls, policies, and established procedures.Assist with the implementation of new accounting tools and improvements to accounting processes.Join Our Client's dynamic Finance team and bring your skills to a role where your work supports premier golf events and a global sports business.
