Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room for surgical patients. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through skilled clinical practice and collaboration with surgical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient status pre-operatively and prepare them for surgery.
• Assist in surgical procedures by circulating and scrubbing, ensuring adherence to sterile technique.
• Operate and monitor standard OR equipment, including Stryker video systems and EMR documentation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to facilitate efficient surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes during surgery.
• Adhere to hospital policies, unit guidelines, and on-call protocols to ensure quality care.

Qualifications:

• Licensed RN with a minimum of 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Circulating and scrub experience in an operating room setting.
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR system preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate and adapt to changing environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and a patient-focused approach.
