Job Title: Travel MIG Welder
Job Description

This role involves performing production MIG welding in a manufacturing environment, primarily on JLG baskets and A-frames, while traveling as needed. You will use your welding skills, blueprint reading ability, and fabrication knowledge to produce high-quality welds that meet established standards and pass both practical and written assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on JLG baskets, A-frames, and related components in a production environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to complete welding tasks accurately.
• Pass and maintain proficiency in a horizontal MIG welding test as required.
• Complete a written test related to welding processes, safety, and quality standards.
• Use tools such as grinders and tape measures to prepare, fit, and finish welded components.
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and basic math to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Follow established fabrication procedures and work instructions to maintain consistency and quality.
• Inspect welds visually and make necessary adjustments to meet quality and safety requirements.
• Work effectively on a 3rd shift schedule, meeting production goals and timelines.
• Maintain a strong attendance record and reliability to support continuous production operations.
• Adhere to all safety policies and practices in a manufacturing welding facility.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and quality standards.

• Minimum of 6 months MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Proficiency in horizontal MIG welding and ability to pass a horizontal weld test.
• Ability to complete and pass a written welding-related test.
• Experience with production welding in a manufacturing environment.
• Skill using grinders for weld preparation and finishing.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure for layout and verification.
• Basic math skills to calculate measurements and verify dimensions.
• Experience with general fabrication tasks related to welding.
• Strong attendance and reliability in previous roles.

• Experience working on structural components such as baskets, frames, or similar assemblies.
• Comfort working on 3rd shift in a high-paced production setting.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality welds.

Work Environment

This position is based in a typical manufacturing welding facility focused on production welding. You will work primarily on 3rd shift in a production line setting, handling MIG welding tasks on JLG baskets, A-frames, and similar components. The environment includes standard welding equipment, grinders, measuring tools, and fabrication stations. You can expect a structured, process-driven atmosphere with an emphasis on safety, quality, and meeting production targets.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, PA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
