We are looking for a Guest Service Captain to orchestrate the service experience for hotel guests and support our team in delivering exceptional hospitality. Job Details Compensation: hourly base pay of $11 per hour plus $5‑$10 per hour in tips. Work Schedule: AM/PM shifts may be required. Summary The Guest Service Captain orchestrates service for hotel guests while working closely with coworkers to meet or exceed service standards. Under the direction of the Account Manager, the Captain handles coordination, administration, troubleshooting, and may make judgment calls in urgent situations. Non‑urgent matters are reported to the manager for guidance. Essential Functions Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, client staff, and coworkers; greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival. Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests, check in arriving guests, explain parking and retrieval procedures, and retrieve vehicles safely. Use proper phone etiquette, post in appropriate areas when not assisting guests, conduct effective room presentations, assist with bell services, and provide directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Promote teamwork by leading by example and effective communication; assign routine roles and adjust staffing under the Account Manager’s direction. Issue claim checks to guests, collect key tags and folios, record damage surveys, secure keys, and maintain all related records. Ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements, protect guest confidentiality, and maintain security of financial and identifying information. Assist the Account Manager with building work schedules, notify associates of changes, collect revenue, complete accurate cash drop slips and shift reports, and reconcile tickets at shift end. Qualifications Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Licensure / Certification Must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background, MVR, and drug screen. Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park. Work Experience Six (6) months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Skills Manual transmission driving proficiency. Proficient in Standard English written and oral communication. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondences, and memos. Basic writing skills for simple correspondence. Effective presentation of information in one‑on‑one and small group settings. Reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of three‑digit numbers and U.S. currency. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems. Understanding of time‑based rates. SCOPE Job is fairly routine; follows established practices and procedures, with frequent verification and operational instructions. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth operation of the department. Authority To Act Decisions made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Budget Responsibility Employee has control only over resources available to them. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Employees are required to talk or hear; sit or stand for extended periods; run, walk, handle objects; reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.
