Job Description Job Description Summary We are representing a well-established, respected Southern California builder seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support ground-up commercial projects through full plan-and-spec hard bidding. The estimator will be directly involved in full-cycle bid development, subcontractor engagement, and cost validation from early planning through final proposal submission. The ideal candidate brings strong technical estimating experience, comfort working from full drawing sets, and the ability to manage multiple pursuits in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from full sets of construction documents • Develop complete hard bids for ground-up commercial projects • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda for scope clarity • Solicit and manage subcontractor bids to ensure strong coverage • Perform bid leveling and scope gap analysis • Coordinate with preconstruction and operations teams during pursuits • Support value engineering and cost optimization strategies • Maintain accurate bid documentation and estimate backups • Assist with handoff to project teams post-award • Track market pricing and subcontractor trends Qualifications • 3+ years of construction estimating experience preferred • Experience with ground-up commercial or institutional projects • Strong understanding of plan-and-spec estimating workflows • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents • Experience managing subcontractor bid coverage • Proficiency with Bluebeam required • Familiarity with OST, Procore, or similar tools preferred • Strong analytical and organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset Benefits • Competitive base salary based on experience • Performance-based bonus opportunities • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • 401(k) with employer contribution • Paid holidays and PTO • Stable project pipeline and strong backlog • Long-term career growth within an established builder • Supportive, team-oriented preconstruction environment
