How you'll contribute A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) who excels in this role: Performs basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording. Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation). Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff. Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas. Manages the tech desk and supports nursing/physician staff and overall department throughput. Documents care and activities per unit standards. Performs other duties as assigned; participates in performance improvement and required education. Additional requirements include: Geriatric experience preferred, particulary from a nursing home or acute care setting. PCA/DCA , SRNA, or EMT Experience preferred but not required Current BLS certification, can be obtained after hire Handle with Care preferred Interest in phlebotomy is a plus, and the facility offers phlebotomy training with an additional pay incentive. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals' only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.
