Director of Accounting - Rock Dental Brands

This role will oversee the work of the accounting team and will report to the VP Controller.Job Duties:Responsible for the overall performance, training and development of the accounting teamLead cross functional collaboration with different operational groups to provide strategic, financial and accounting related guidance, to help overall outcome for business operationsLead ASC 606 revenue recognition work for monthly closeSafeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by developing and ensuring compliance with all internal control processesDevelop, improve and issue timely and accurate monthly financial statements to include managing the close process, account reconciliations and GL analysisDevelop and ensure compliance with all internal control processesLead and manage the audit with our outside audit firmImplement new processes to streamline and improve business flowsResearch and implement new technical accounting pronouncementsPartner with FP&A and Transformation teams on forecasting and budgeting processesQualifications:Bachelor Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university requiredTen or more years of related experience, including 3+ years in managementCPA, preferredStrong technical accounting knowledgeStrong oral and written communication skillsPersonal Characteristics: Interpersonal Skills: Confident with executive presence and the ability to work effectively and transparently with both the CFO and other members of the senior leadership team, without being too deferential.Character: High degree of maturity, integrity, and personal self-confidence tempered by self-awareness and self-reflection. Must be comfortable openly admitting shortcomings.Leadership Capability: Ability to build and motivate a team to improve the team’s performance and contributions to the organization.Communication Skills: Skill in building consensus for new ideas and initiatives and in communicating effectively with personnel and groups at all organization levels.
