Tax Process Staff

Job Title: Tax Processing Staff Location: La Jolla, CA 92122 Pay: $22.11/hour Job Overview This role is primarily administrative, focusing on compiling tax documents and submitting them to the IRS, state, and local agencies. The Tax Processing Staff is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and error‑free processing, assembly, and delivery of tax returns in accordance with established guidelines. Key Responsibilities Log, process, assemble, and distribute tax returns accurately and efficiently Review submitted returns and instructions for completeness and accuracy Follow up with submitters as needed prior to processing Scan and electronically save tax documents and related files Track the status of submitted returns Maintain and monitor tax processing mailboxes to stay current on workload Ensure high‑quality work with minimal errors and rework Perform quality checks on documents and processes Maintain department metrics and production tracking Manage tax processing tools, equipment, and supplies Identify and Escalate issues proactively Support team processes and may act as a lead processor when needed Qualifications At least 1 year of related work experience (tax experience is a plus) Experience in a high‑volume processing environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Additional Information Opportunity to develop knowledge of federal, state, and local tax return processes.
