Length of position: 210 day contract per year
Hours: 7:30 A.M-4:30 P.M SUMMARY
The School Psychologist possesses expertise in comprehensive psychoeducational assessment, Special Education eligibility determination, academic and behavioral evaluation, data analysis, and student support services. This position is skilled in administering and interpreting a variety of standardized assessments, preparing comprehensive evaluation reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective support strategies. The role provides consultation and support to students, families, and school staff to promote positive academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes. This position is responsible for managing complex caseloads while exercising sound professional judgment and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for Special Education services.
- Administers, scores, and interprets standardized psychological, cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments to evaluate student needs.
- Analyzes assessment data and prepares clear, thorough evaluation reports with evidence-based recommendations for intervention and support.
- Monitors student progress and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and services.
- Provides consultation to service providers, school staff, and families regarding academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health concerns.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement and promote positive educational outcomes.
- Participates in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD)/IEP meetings and other multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Applies effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address student, programmatic, and organizational needs.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills when working with students, families, and school staff.
- Maintains compliance with district policies, procedures, ethical standards, and applicable legal requirements.
- Stays informed of changes in federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards related to Special Education and School Psychology
- Participates in continuing education, training, and professional learning opportunities to enhance clinical, assessment, consultation, and intervention skills.
- Adapts effectively to changing priorities, responsibilities, and educational environments.
- Demonstrates professionalism through appropriate conduct, appearance, dependability, and accountability.
- Meets established standards for attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in school psychology or any related field.
- Licensure from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as a LSP or;
- is a candidate for Texas Licensure under a supervisory agreement with an approved supervisor and who has passed all necessary testing for licensure or;
- holds a current, valid license from a state that has a reciprocity agreement that may be transferred to Texas.
- Current LSSP Licensure in accordance with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Sign Language: The ultimate required proficiency level for the position using the levels designated in the Signed Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) is ADVANCED.
- Proficient signed communications skills
- Experience in a school setting
- Experience working with students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have multiple disabilities
- Experience managing and conducting student Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings
- Problem solving-the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Effective Communication-the individual must be able to appropriately communicate with colleagues, students, parents, families, administrators, supervisors, and the public.
- Planning/organizing-the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans.
- Quality control-the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
- Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Interpersonal Skills-the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
