Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher (SPED) (2026–2027 School Year)

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll provide specialized instruction and support to an elementary-level caseload in a self-contained special education classroom . The classroom serves students with multiple disabilities, including Autism , so the ideal candidate will have a strong background and hands-on experience working with students on the Autism spectrum.

You’ll be responsible for creating an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment while implementing individualized instruction and supporting students' academic, behavioral, communication, and functional needs.

Job Details

• Location: Stony Creek, VA

• School Year: 2026–2027

• Position: Special Education Teacher

• Setting: Self-Contained Classroom

• Grade Level: Elementary

• Student Population: Multiple disabilities, including Autism

• Schedule: Full-Time

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week

• Pay: Approximately $35/hour, with the final rate varying based on experience, qualifications, and education

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working in Special Education

• Strong background and experience working with students with Autism

• Experience supporting students with multiple disabilities

• Ability to provide individualized and differentiated instruction

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills

• Ability to implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Commitment to creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

• Appropriate Virginia Special Education licensure and credentials as required for the position
