Strategic Buyer

Position Overview GEA Group is a global leader in engineering solutions, serving the food, beverage, pharma, dairy, and other industries. We are seeking a Strategic Buyer to support procurement activities. Key Responsibilities Oversee the assigned category to support the business on procurement activities. Work closely with category managers and project procurement managers to implement category strategy and link it into the business. Develop and implement strategic sourcing for spare parts and performance initiatives. Adapt and implement catalogues and framework contracts at the divisional/regional level in compliance with guidelines. Run negotiations, manage RFQs, award decisions, and follow‑up with suppliers; take award decisions in line with category strategy. Execute supplier selection in line with strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers. Directly involve in and resolve supplier issues such as quality, delivery, and service. Monitor and communicate supplier performance. Strive for automation and digitalisation practices and tool improvement. Ensure cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution. Ensure compliance with procurement processes, policies, and other statutory requirements within the category. Accountable for achieving agreed KPIs and their reporting. Qualifications & Experience Fluent English. 5 years’ experience in procurement processes. Knowledge of international contract management. Cost analysis and management skills. Experience with corporate procurement implementation. Experience in complex organizations. Negotiation experience. System experience: Ariba, S2P, SAP, ERP systems. High analytical capabilities, problem‑solving skills and strategic thinking. Ability to network/build relationships and translate business requirements into RFx. Previous experience in food, dairy, or beverage industry as well as construction and field installation projects. Education: University or bachelor’s degree (optional). Procurement or supply chain certification (optional). Travel up to 20%. Employment Information The position is based in the United States and does not offer visa or work sponsorship.
