Post Doctoral Scholar- Microbial Infection and Immunity

Job Description Pursue research studying mechanisms controlling plasma membrane repair and cell death pathways during infection and inflammation under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity. Design, conduct, and evaluate research experiments. Plan and execute advanced techniques in cellular biology, molecular biology, quantitative fluorescence microscopy, live‑cell imaging, and flow cytometry. Develop, adopt, and implement new laboratory methods. Analyze and interpret data, write research papers for publication. Perform scientific literature searches. Present research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings. Apply for postdoctoral fellowships. Assist the PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding. Participate in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and department seminars and activities. Assist with training of other lab members. Minimum Education Required MD, PhD, or MD/PhD. Required Qualifications Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment. Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, quantitative fluorescence microscopy, live‑cell imaging, and flow cytometry. Experience with animal handling and husbandry. Successful completion of a background check required. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen.
