This leadership opportunity is designed for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in utilization review, clinical investigations, and healthcare auditing. You will oversee a Quality Assurance Nurse Investigations Unit, guiding complex investigations into potential healthcare fraud, program mismanagement, and regulatory non-compliance. Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will help ensure investigative findings are accurate, well-documented, and defensible. The role combines advanced clinical judgment, data analysis, operational oversight, and team development. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and decisions that support the integrity and accountability of public healthcare programs. This is a remote-eligible position requiring candidates to reside in Arizona.

Review and approve investigation reports, case closures, and clinical assessments, ensuring that evidence is complete, consistent, and sufficient to support conclusions. Conduct complex clinical, financial, and data analysis, documenting findings to support defensible investigative outcomes and regulatory accountability. Negotiate and finalize determinations involving overpayments, civil monetary penalties, settlements, and forfeitures, obtaining the necessary approvals. Participate in administrative appeals and Informal Settlement Conferences, representing investigative interests. Conduct investigative interviews and provide expert, factual, or summary testimony in legal and administrative proceedings when required. Mentor and train staff, promote a high-performing team culture, and support organizational modernization and continuous improvement initiatives. Align team activities with the organization's strategic plan, mission, and Agency Management System. Coordinate internal and external relationships and support operational activities, including site visits when necessary.
