ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Commitment to Safety
- Contribute to a safe environment through learning, implementing, and monitoring safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to safety rules and practices, and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership.
- Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training.
- Coordinate with the Club Service Director and Program Director on strategic initiatives and the implementation of workforce readiness programs and activities.
- Support Service Director and Program Director with program logistics, events, data tracking, and training.
- Coordinate and support county-wide program activities, such as club-based community events, open houses, training, parent events, and trips.
- Collaborate on an annual action plan for the Workforce Readiness Program, including year-end objectives, main activities, and assessment measures.
- Assist in the recruitment of community partner volunteers for the WFD program.
- Provide career and workforce opportunity guidance and exploration activities to teens as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, school staff, local businesses, and key stakeholders to increase Workforce Readiness outreach efforts.
- Coordinate guest speakers from various professional fields to share information about careers and college experiences.
- Seek out enrichment and academic opportunities for students, including certification programs, trade school scholarships, extension classes, youth exchanges, and community service opportunities.
- Operate a personal or company vehicle to travel to event sites and oversee events and member field trips.
- Associate's degree or combination of experience and education.
- Six months of experience working in a service organization, emphasizing workforce development programs and activities.
- Proficiency in using technology and data, including Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce Database, and project management tools.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and consistent access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- Youth Engagement: Placing a high priority on developing others, aligned with the youth engagement aspects of BGCCF Workforce Readiness goals. Ability to build rapport with teens and develop youth through coaching, feedback, exposure, and stretch assignments.
- Plans and Aligns: Setting objectives for learning environments, programs, services, and activities that align with BGCCF's broader organizational goals. Breaking down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions and staging activities with relevant milestones and schedules.

- Builds Effective Programs through Interactions with Youth and Teens: Ensures positive interactions and group experiences by creating strong morale and engagement with teammates and youth, fostering open dialogue, and creating a feeling of belonging at the club.
- Safety and Wellness: Ensures accountability for all safety standards and procedures. Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments, follows through on commitments, and establishes clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring youth attendance and growth.
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.
- External: Maintains contact with members, families, alumni, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, other Clubs, vendors, consultants, organizations, and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve problems.
- The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, such as an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere.
- Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings, to support club activities and events.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.
- Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and grasping.
- Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently. Requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods (8+ hours), including performing tasks that involve repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills
- Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, family members, and other staff.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
- Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Continued employment is contingent upon passing randomized drug screenings as part of our commitment to maintaining a drug-free work environment.
- Continued employment is also contingent on the Florida State Department of Children and Families employment designation of "eligible for employment" as a state-licensed youth-serving organization.
