Behavior Technician For The STEP/S ProgramThe Meriden Public School District seeks applicants for a Behavior Technician for the STEP/S Program.Program Description:Self-contained special education programSupport students from K-8 who engage in challenging behaviorsSupport with small group, structured, specialized instructionProvide academic and social, emotional, and behavioral supportImplement proactive plans to prevent escalationConduct frequent data collection and analysisUse of positive reinforcement to promote positive behaviorLocation may vary for placement as follows:Ben Franklin Elementary School, Washington Middle SchoolQualifications:The Behavior Technician should be able to work with students with behavioral challenges. Experience working with children with Autism and/or challenging behaviors is preferred. Previous training in physical management and de-escalation is preferred.
