Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Position Type: 4-Month Contract
Contract End Date: December 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM | 40 hours/week

Position Summary:
  • The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for providing high-quality patient service while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. This position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • The PSR II interacts directly with patients and is expected to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while safely and accurately collecting specimens. The position may be assigned to a Patient Service Center, physician office, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
  • Perform pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain required patient signatures and initials.
  • Confirm specimen labels are accurate and properly applied in the patient's presence.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Complete required records, documentation, and data entry accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, professional, and welcoming environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and establish patient trust and confidence.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Travel between Patient Service Centers and physician office locations as needed.
  • Remain flexible to support staffing needs, including occasional weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, and overtime.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Experience performing Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
  • Keyboarding and data-entry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • At least 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
