Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a Survey SUE Technician II to join our team in Stuart, FL. Purpose Work outdoors using electromagnetic equipment and ground‑penetrating radar to detect subsurface utilities, operate a vacuum truck, perform utility mark‑out and surveying activities, and document work with sketches, photos, spreadsheets, and written reports. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under moderate supervision and receive direction on moderately complex assignments. Work is reviewed by senior staff to ensure quality, and you will review junior staff output for quality assurance. At The Operational And Company Level Locate underground utilities through nondestructive methods. Operate data collectors and collect field measurements. Record and document underground utility field data accurately. Train to operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles. Train to meet company safety standards. Do the Work Operate vacuum truck and related equipment such as compressor blower, vacuum hose and air lance, jackhammer, pogo‑tamper, concrete saw, hand tools, etc. Operate multi‑frequency electromagnetic equipment including EMI and GPR. Record drawing and design plans. Perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot vacuum excavation systems and related equipment. Prepare daily paperwork. Perform SUE field activities with little supervision. Train junior field staff. Success Metrics and Competencies Work independently and within a team. Respond with strong sense of urgency. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Self‑reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. Build effective relationships with internal leaders, peers, and external clients. Qualifications High school diploma or GED, strongly preferred; relevant experience considered. Three or more years as SUE Technician I or related field experience. Basic knowledge of land surveying. Willingness to travel for assignments, including occasional overnight stays. Physical Demands and Working Environment Primarily outdoor work with exposure to adverse weather, varying temperatures, noise, and potential hazards. Mobility around a site: walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and wearing required PPE. Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment requiring several hours of walking. Primarily local travel during the business day; occasional out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be required. Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 20 lb, pushing or pulling up to 20 lb, and reaching outward or above shoulder.
