System Tester

System TesterSCCI is seeking a System Tester for manned aircraft projects for the Battle Management System (BMS) family of projects. In this position you will plan, conduct, and report results of test and evaluation of the systems and products of the project teams within the BMS portfolio as part of the BMS Rapid Development Process with a particular focus on software testing. This testing includes developmental testing as well as system level testing to ensure the products are well characterized and understood before delivery to the warfighter. The team conducts testing both in the lab and in the field with constant focus on improving the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of test and evaluation to ensure the highest quality products are delivered as quickly as possible. Travel may be required to CONUS locations for installation, integration and testing, working closely with other stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of testable requirements and project test strategiesDevelop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verificationConduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the fieldWork with developers to troubleshoot issues found during testing and report results through documentation and ticketsParticipate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotelyCollaborate across technical teams through regularly scheduled milestone meetingsManage tasking efficiently and meet deliverable timelines in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsEssential Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security ClearanceA Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Degree requirements may be waived for Candidates with direct hands-on experience with a weapon system applicationThree (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testingTwo (2) years of full time experience with software intensive DoD weapon systemsMust be able to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycleDemonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentDemonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test executionDemonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environmentPass an FAA class 3 medical examPass Hypobaric Chamber trainingSupport remote travel eventsWalk flight line up to ~200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to get the platformLift up to 80 lbs in awkward angles/positionsSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of Employees and their families.
