Weapons Systems Test Engineer

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Weapons Systems Test Engineer to plan, execute, and analyze tests of advanced defense systems. You will design lab and range test campaigns, develop test plans and instrumentation strategies, and ensure safety and performance against mission requirements. Working with multidisciplinary experts, you'll interpret complex data, provide recommendations, and document results. Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute laboratory and field tests for advanced weapons systems.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and instrumentation strategies to verify system performance and safety.
• Analyze test data, document results, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
• Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to define test objectives and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with range safety, security, and defense standards during testing.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for sponsors and internal stakeholders.
• Support test readiness reviews and post-test debriefs.
• Contribute to innovative test methods and tools for emerging defense technologies.
