Job Number: 178829, Job Title: Registered Nurse - Correctional Health - JPC/Intake- Nights - 25K Retention Bonus Eligible, Salary: $48.70 - $63.01 JOB SUMMARY The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has the knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in the Texas Nursing Practice Act and by Correctional Health Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his or her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he or she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred. Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program; other certificates as required by unit/service. Work Experience: One year full‑time RN experience in nursing. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Above Average Verbal communication, heavy public contact. Exceptional Verbal communication (e.g., public speaking). Writing/Composing (correspondence/reports). Bilingual skills preferred; preferred languages: any. Special language skills: adequate communication in English, both verbally and written, for accurately interpreting and transmitting clinical information; capable of sending and receiving messages understandable by patients/families/soiree.
