Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.The Chen Laboratory at the City of Hope is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support NIH-funded research focused on RNA biology, vascular biology, cancer biology, and therapeutic discovery. You will contribute to an interdisciplinary program investigating the role of Argonaute proteins and RNA regulatory mechanisms in cancer, diabetes, and vascular disease, including the development and validation of first-in-class small-molecule inhibitors.You will also play a key role in laboratory operations by establishing and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of plasmids, antibodies, cell lines, reagents, and laboratory supplies; organizing laboratory databases; coordinating reagent distribution and ordering; ensuring quality control of laboratory resources; and assisting with general laboratory management and regulatory compliance. As a successful candidate you will:· Perform a broad range of molecular, biochemical, and cell biology experiments, including recombinant protein expression and purification, nucleic acid labeling, protein-RNA interaction assays, cell culture, transfection, Western blotting, qPCR, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, ELISA, and other functional assays.· Assist with assay development, and mechanistic studies in endothelial and cancer cell models.· Prepare reagents, maintain accurate laboratory records, analyze experimental data, and contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:· Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of research/laboratory experienceCity of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.To learn more about our Comprehensive Benefits, please CLICK HERE.Job Field: ResearchShift: Days
