The Opportunity

\n

\n

Dumé Law Group is seeking an Immigration Paralegal specializing in T visas, U visas, and VAWA cases . This role focuses on preparing humanitarian immigration petitions, drafting affidavits, gathering supporting evidence, and coordinating filings with USCIS and EOIR.

\n

\n

This is a highly client-facing position that requires regular communication with clients across immigration matters to obtain information, collect documentation, and support case preparation. The paralegal will also collaborate closely with attorneys and fellow paralegals to keep cases organized, meet deadlines, and ensure accurate and timely filings.

\n

\n

What You’ll Do

\n

\n

\n
• Prepare VAWA, U visa, and T visa petitions and applications , including supporting documentation and evidence.
\n
• Draft VAWA affidavits, personal statements, declarations, and other supporting documents.
\n
• Assist with obtaining U visa law enforcement certifications (Form I-918, Supplement B) and coordinating related documentation.
\n
• Prepare and submit immigration filings before USCIS and EOIR , ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable filing requirements.
\n
• Draft and prepare motions and supporting documents, including motions for continuance, motions to change venue, and other case-related filings.
\n
• Communicate directly with clients across immigration matters to obtain documents, clarify information, follow up on outstanding items, and support case preparation.
\n
• Gather, review, and organize evidence, client records, affidavits, and other supporting materials.
\n
• Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to coordinate casework, share information, and maintain consistency across the department.
\n
• Maintain highly organized case files, track deadlines, monitor case progress, and follow up on outstanding documentation.
\n
• Assist with asylum, removal defense, and other immigration matters as needed.

Required Qualifications

\n

\n

\n
• 2+ years of immigration law experience , preferably with T visas, U visas, VAWA, or other humanitarian immigration matters.
\n
• Fluency in Spanish and English .
\n
• Strong writing skills, including experience drafting affidavits and preparing supporting documentation.
\n
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
\n
• Strong client communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
\n
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and fellow paralegals.
\n
• Ability to work full-time in person at the firm’s West New York, NJ office.
\n

A bachelor’s degree, senior standing at a four-year college or university, or paralegal certification is preferred.
